Cate West: The Vanishing Files is a multiplayer mystery game where you play as Cate West, a crime novelist who gets psychic visions get asked be police to help with investigating cases that were deemed impossible to solve.  These cases are known as the Vanishing Files.  Hmm… I wonder how they got the title of the game…

In the game you play in 15 cases and for each case there are 5 stages.  There’s a good bunch of criminal investigations so for those of you who want to work together with friends to deduce the criminal, this game is for you.

Pro:	There’s actually moderate amount of things to do in the game and it’s longer then you might think Multiplayer competition is fun if you’re not being completely massacred.
Con:	The plot is pretty weak The game tried to add variation for you every time you revisit places, but it generally just failed The items you’re looking for are bland and sometimes just blend in too well

There are 5 stages in the game and each stage involves you doing criminal investigation.

• Stage 1 – You explore around the city looking for clues.  Each location you visit you’ll have a list of items you have to find.  Sounds easy?  Well, I’m telling you, it’s not and you’d be thankful with a friend to help you look for any items.
• Stage 2 – Now Cate has found 2 evidence that helps in the case and they shatter into pieces and you have to find them in a jumbled up images, once again, it’s just like Eye Spy, except harder since there’s no list of items you’re looking for
• Stage 3 – Now you have the evidence you have to go to the criminal’s hideout.  The game here is to find the difference between 2 pictures.
• Stage 4 – Now it’s time for something different, you have to play a game of guess who.  With the evidence and information of suspects you have to find out who the criminal is.
• Stage 5 – Now finally we looked for clues, found evidence, found the criminal’s hideout, and found the criminal, what do we do next?  We go to court of course!  What were you thinking?  Hiring a hitman?  This is the reverse of stage 3.  You have to rebuild the fragmented evidence and shatter the criminals dreams of freedom ;P

That’s all there is, trust me it’s longer and much harder then I lead on, but don’t worry there are tools you can use to make life easier.

The multiplayer in Cate West is pretty simple.  There are two modes you can have:

• Co-Op – This is self explained, you and a friend work together to figure out the case.
• Competition – In a case you and your friend compete for points.  The person with the most points win!  Hope that’s you…

Conclusion

Cate West: The Vanishing Files might look short, but once you get started you’ll realize that it’s not just long, but it might be a lot harder then you think.

With 5 stages for each of the 15 cases combined with the multiplayer aspect of the game, you’ll play the game for a long time and you’ll never get bored of it when you bring it out for a friend who loves Eye Spy!
