Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll
Coming back on the Wii is Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll. Like any game in the Super Monkey Ball series players must roll their monkeys around the stage collecting bananas and get to the goal.
What’s different in this game? Well not much really. The jump function from the game was removed, but like the name suggests the Wii balance board is now a new addition to the game.

Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll Gameplay
When you first play this game you start out with picking out 1 of the 4 monkeys. They don’t have any differences. Then you get to select a world to play in. There are 10 worlds and there are several stages in each one.
The jumping function and the boss fights at the end are all gone now. It seems that they decided to make this new game go back to the basics (that or it’s because of the Wii balance board add-on).
The goal of the game is to get to the goal at the end of the stage. While going you’ll run into things and most likely die. Once you run out of lives you’ll get game over. You get lives by collecting bananas. Every 20 bananas = 1 life.
Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll Multiplayer
The game added the new co-op mode which lets you work together to beat maps. Besides that there is the classic mini-game mode. There are only 21 mini-games as opposed to the 50 in the previous game, but oh well.
Co-Op Mode
In co-op mode you and or your friend play with the Wii balance board, as the monkey ball. The other person has the Wiimote and blasts objects out of the way for the other person to roll past. This mode is a perfect combination of skill, accuracy, and just plain carefulness.
Conclusion
Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll retains the old Super Monkey Ball charm, with some missing things… but nonetheless the core game is still the same.
The Wii Balance Board for the game isn’t so good as there are some buggy camera issues that could mess you up at critical times, but hey, if you don’t take it too seriously it won’t matter much.

Smarty Pants: Trivia for Everyone
You know how when you say you’re smart other people will tell you to “prove it”? Well drag them into this puzzle trivia game and show them who the smarty pants is!
Smarty Pants doesn’t have much to do, but for what it does have it has a lot of good things, spanning from 20,000 questions in 8 categories!
Unfortunately though the game doesn’t have much different things for you to do, so its one of those casual games that you’ll play with friends and family every now and then when you have absolutely nothing else to do.

Smarty Pants: Trivia for Everyone Gameplay
Gameplay
Smarty Pants, like all the other trivia games is all about answering questions. You have 4 choices, 1 answer, and 3 wrong answers.
You can’t play much by yourself, the only thing you can do is just answer questions within a certain time limit and see how many questions you can get right.
Smarty Pants: Trivia for Everyone Multiplayer
This multiplayer Wii game has 2 multiplayer mode: Friend Mode and Family Mode. Friend mode is competitive and family is Co-Op.
Friend Mode
You have 2 modes to play in this, both involving spinning a wheel for a category and then ringing in to answer questions for points:
- Wager – After you choose a category you enter a mini-game where you shoot moving objects for points. If you’re in a category that you’re really good at shoot at the positive points, and if you’re in a bad category shoot red color objects to deduct the points each correct answers give you.
- Countdown – No point deciding you just spin a wheel for you category and try to get the right answers.
Family Mode
This is the same as solo mode.
First you choose a how much time you want to work with and the amount of questions you want to work through.
Finally you get to choose to use multi-remote or one wiimote. There is really no difference, just try to quickly answer all the questions as fast and correctly as possible!
Conclusion
20,000 questions, 8 categories, and 2 modes, Smarty Pants won’t be the next block buster hit, but its still a great game for you to play if you’re sick of Super Smash Brother Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, and all of those other games.

Octomania
Making takoyaki has never been so simple. The game focuses on matching same color octopuses on a frying pan.
It all started when apprentice magician Kari decided that she wanted to eat takoyaki (Japanese fried octopus). She cast a spell and instead of takoyaki it rained octopuses!
This multiplayer puzzle game has a lot of modes for you and a friend to play in, but lacks variety in the gameplay.

Octomania Gameplay
Gameplay
Note: Use the sideway controls!
There are multiple modes in this game. Some have multiplayer, but all of them involves you playing in an 8×10 board.
On the boards are multiple 3×3 grill space. You’ll see a number in the middle of it. You have to put that amount of the same color octopuses to “grill” them. When you move other octopuses to the grill you’ll grill it too.
You control a 2×2 square where you rotate the octopuses inside the square around. This is how you move the octopuses.
By chaining octopuses you’ll be attacking your enemies with urchins which are hard to get rid of. Each character has a specific color that they specialize in. By chaining those colors you attack your opponents with even more urchins!
Your opponent loses when their board is filled and they can’t get rid of anything in 3 seconds.
Octomania Multiplayer
Every mode operates the same as each other. There are 3 categories you are looking at:
- Arcade Mode
- Original Mode
- Nintendo WFC
I have no clue what the difference in gameplay is between Arcade and Original mode, besides the character.
Arcade involves Kari fixing her magic, while Original is about other characters and their own personal…issues.
Arcade
There is only one mode:
2 Player Battle: It’s a simple you vs. a friend!
Original
There are 3 modes:
- Octopuzzle – Play through story mode with a friend. You both play on the same grid against easy opponents to multiplayer opponents.
- Octobattle – Battle with 1-4 friends (only mode with 4 players). Where there are more then 2 players there are teams
- Endless – Play endlessly until you DIE. 2 players only
Nintendo WFC
Battle with friends or random players online in this multiplayer puzzle game.
However last time I check there wasn’t anyone around, but then again it was 11:01…
Conclusion
Even though the gameplay is the same and simply repeats itself over and over the game still has its quirks.
While some might find the story “cute” or “annoying” or anything else, you might still find the game enjoyable. The game got a few chuckles out of me even with the voice acting so it’s fine.
Also to boot this multiplayer puzzle game also has quite a few Co-Op games you can play in story mode with, so there is a lot you can do.

Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure
Alright, you up for using that near dead, badly treated, near dead brain. Ya know, that thing between your ears? Inside your skull? Tells your heart to pump? Makes you breathe? Oh, whatever, all you need to know is that you must think. You heard me, THINK!
So yeah, you’ll be solving puzzles in this multiplayer Wii game. Most of them involve NOT getting killed, but some involve not getting the treasure crushed. Seriously, you’ll be rolling boulders and playing with fire. AND SOMETIMES EVIL CULTISTS THAT WILL BITE YOUR HANDS OFF!

Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure Gameplay
CONTROLS
Well, the game’s features a point and click styled puzzle solving, and often times will force to look around.
To look around, press be, then move your wiimote pointer around.
To loot goods, press “A” to pick ‘em up. Except you can only hold one at any time. No matter how muscular Zack is, you only get one. Oh, and you shake for Wiki.
Gameplay
You’re a pirate looking to strike it rich. Sooooo…you try for Barbaros’ treasure, only a rival pirate gang shoot you out of the sky, and your pilot ditched you.
Eventually you meet up with the ghost of Barbaros, and, in exchange for fixing his body, he’ll give you his legendary ship.
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure Multiplayer
So, your friends will slightly help you. They’ll point around to highlight stuff you might find useful. Yeah. That’s it. I’ve got better uses for my friends then that, but ya know, at least they CAN help.
Conclusion
Zack and Wiki is a game that’ll have your mind trying to eat itself, even IF you’re really smart. While you’ll often times be pointing and pressing, you can also be pulling and using the wiimote like a real item! You’ll be fishing, as well as spiking soup with sleepy time mushrooms.
Zack and Wiki isn’t a must have, but it can provide hours of entertainment. Ya know, assuming you don’t get angry and want to smash your TV over it. Otherwise, Zack and Wiki is a great puzzle game.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
Don’t you hate it when you run off the map and towards your death on your last life! Now you have to start over and collect all the bananas again! But you’ll still keep on coming back for this multiplayer wii game again!
What you just read might actually be true. It’s actually quite frustrating when your THIS close to winning when you accidentally jump off a cliff. It’s even more annoying when you’re on your last life.
The game is fun, but it’s lack of a pause button and it’s lack of continuing after you quit can get frustrating. On another hand, it has tons of minigames and some extremely fun yet difficult campaign.
The minigames are the really in depth, not as deep as those other games, but that’s okay, because it’s a minigame!
| Pros |
|
| Cons |
|
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz Gameplay
Controls
In this game, you swing the wiimote up to jump. That’s a new one, eh? On another hand, you TILT the wiimote to shift the map, so you can start moving around.
The problem is that it’ll be rather crude, ‘cause it’ll be hard to coordinate it perfectly.
Gameplay
The plot is basically this: “Someone stole our bananas for the fiftieths or so time! Go get them back! For great justice!” So they put all the characters in balls and have them roll around to get the bananas back.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz Multiplayer
You’ll be playing at least 50 minigames. Buuuuuuuuuut…since I’m not willing to type down 50, I’ll type 5. I won’t even tell you the instructions ‘cause I assume you’ll read them.
- Boxing
Guess what? You get to go fisticuffs with your friends in first person view! The most violent fighter wins. Or the most strategic. It’s a mind game. You win can win
without thinking, or trick other people.
- Darts
Aim your dart, and then drag it back. Then flick it immediately forward. Try to get it to the center, but make sure it also leans towards the highest.
- Fencing
Stab at everyone, but feint when someone does it to you. Of course, if everyone does this without fail, it’d never end.
- Sumo Paper Fighter
Slam your paper sumo replica of you towards other people so they get pushed off the stage.
- Slingshot
Shoot yourself to knock bricks down, hit balloons, and kill UFOs. All for a lot of points.
Conclusion
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz is a fun game, with minigames as the icing on the cake. The minigames are extremely enjoyable, and it has a harsh, yet addicting campaign. The game itself is entertaining enough so it’s probably worth the money.
With it’s wide variety of minigames and an entertaining campaign, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz is as fun of a multiplayer wii game as it is of a single player wii game. The game is a very entertaining multiplayer wii game.
It is as every bit of an entertaining solo game, as well as a multiplayer game. Of course, you can take turns playing stages, so the single player is can also be a multiplayer game. <.<

Boom Blox: Bash Party
Boom Blox is back! You’ll still have the old way of playing (Blast, Grab, and Pull), however now there’s a new one…Sling!
Alongside with these new features are new ways to play the games. May it be shooting canons, playing hockey, or whatever you’ll have a bash party!
Personally I think the multiplayer mode to this game also received more focus. So be prepared for more multiplayer treats.
Also in this multiplayer Wii game you’ll also be able to create and share your creations online. With this, the game will never get old.

Boom Blox: Bash Party Gameplay
If you have the first game then you already know the basics of Boom Blox: Bash Party. If you don’t know that’s still okay, because it has been statistically not proven that your first instance would be correct.
Anyways you’ll be selecting each puzzle from an amusement park. Each one has a theme (4 total building). Inside each building there are blox animals (at least I think that’s what they are). Some are locked and have conditions to meet before unlocking. However you can just buy it open with points earned playing the game.
After clicking on one of the animals you move on to more choices. Namely which level do you want to play. Each animal category has unique gameplay. Another thing, you could download more maps here.
Boom Blox: Bash Party Multiplayer
Now Nintendo WFC does exist in this game (yay!), and it’s easily reachable. However you won’t be playing the game online with your friends. Instead you get to
do something equally as good. You get to download levels created from other people. Some may be stupid, but others might actually be the next best thing since…something!
Co-Op
Like I said there are 4 theme parks rides. In Co-Op mode there are 3 animals inside each one of those rides, and they have the levels to play in. They are:
- Show Time! – They have Clock Dismantle, Rapid Fire, and Big Top Workshop
- Pirates – They have Co-Op Gem Dig, Salvage Team, Buccaneers
- Space Ship – They have Space Miners, Planetary Engineering, and Space Golf
- Heroic – They have Rescue Co-Op, Refinery Raid, and Mad Laboratory.
Versus
Same thing as Co-Op, except you’re going at each other’s throats.
- Show Time! – They have Color Topple, Color Dismantle, Color Domination, Color Dismantle Pro, and Balance Build
- Pirates – They have Pirate Raiding, Bombardiers, Gem Dismantle, and Free Dismantle
- Space Ship – They have Space Vs., Elimination, Mini Golf, Space Battle, Laser Blast, and Puck Attack 2.0
- Heroic – They have 100 Points Topple, Sling Shot Points, Point Pitch, Point Jackpot, Bowling Ball Topple, and Point Tower Topple
Conclusion
This game is everything Boom Blox had and more. With more ways to play, a new control, and the ability to create and share stages, this multiplayer puzzle game is ageless (or until they make a new one).
Another great change was the fact that they had more focus on multiplayer mode this time around, adding more games (I think anyways, I’m not counting!) in Versus and Co-Op Mode. Sure you’ll find some boring games, but you’ll definitely find your perfect fun puzzle game in this package all wrapped in one!
If you’re interested I would recommend you to buy this game, but you can rent it at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

Marble Saga: Kororinpa
Can you get enough of Super Monkey Balls? If you can’t you might want to check out Marble Saga: Kororinpa. The game is similar, but it has its own unique style
with some crazy gameplay (using the wall as the floor, for example).
This multiplayer Wii game makes you play as selectable marbles. You start out with some, but as you complete the game you can unlock more and more marbles. Each marble has their own unique stats, and some might even make animal sounds!
Of course, you could even create your own marbles and stages for you to use in this multiplayer puzzle game. You can also create your own stage and then share it online with your friends via WiiConnect24.
| Pro: |

Marble Saga: Kororinpa Gameplay
You’re helping out an ant named Anthony. The story of the game is not that important, though (I already
forgot everything else except for the first sentence above…). What you do is that you tilt the Wiimote around each stage collecting yellow crystals and any other goodies that you can find. This does not include anything that your gamer instincts tell you not to touch. (You know, most games have hazards that something in your mind tells you not to touch. Those instincts.)
In multiplayer mode you only get the yellow crystals.
Anyways, throughout each stage you find junk (literally junk), that can be used to make items to use for creating your own stage.
Playing through the game allows you to unlock new marbles which all have specific stats. So will it be the slow, but steady panda, or just the plain marble?
Marble Saga: Kororinpa Multiplayer
Sorry folks, but there is no Nintendo WFC in this multiplayer Wii game. What you have instead is a large selection of stages to play through. To play multiplayer you have to go to Free Mode and then choose either Normal Stages or Bonus Stages.
Normal Stages
There are 7 levels you can choose from. What’s that, you’re recommenging a game with only 7 levels you ask? Well that’s right there are only 7 levels, but in each level there are 10 stages!
So, yeah, play through the sizziling hot desert, the icy mountains, or even in outer space! That’s a lot of places for one marble to go. You can play with up to 4 players. You have to collect the yellow crystals and then go to the goal, first one there wins! The stages all have unique stuff in them, so be careful!
Bonus Stages
These stages are hard, and not just hard, but bonus stages too. However hard it is though, the same rules apply, get to the end of the stage with all of the yellow crystals!
Conclusion
Marble Saga: Kororinpa is a fun marble tilting game that reminds me a lot of the marble tilting J board game that my teacher sometimes let us play with back during elementary school.
If you like those sort of games you’ll love this game.
Not only that, but you’ll experience a lot of fun times shifting gravity, making the wall next to you your floor, or just the pure frustration of dying over and over again in a canon, and then hearing the annoying meowing sound over and over.
Plus with multiple difficulty (new tasks), plenty of stages, creatable parts, and custom stages to create and share, you’ll have a blast playing this game, even after beating the game.
If you’re interested I would recommend you to try renting this game first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

Boom Blox
Boom Blox isn’t your average multiplayer puzzle game. Explosions, physics, and even real life logic is all in this wii game. Do you have what it takes to blast, pull, and throw your way to victory?
You can blast, pull, and throw over 300 single player matches and over 100 co-op and competitive multiplayer for you to play.
Better yet you can create your own levels to play through and share them online with people who have your friend code also known as your friends

Boom Blox Gameplay
I swear this game is huge. You’ll be lost by all the interactive options in this game. Luckily for you most things are locked and well need to be unlocked, and even after that there’s still much more to do.
When you first make your profile you’re forced to do training. Then you’ll unlock adventure and explore mode where you can continue and unlock more multiplayer options.
There are over 300 levels for you to play and infinite more if you make your own. Every level basically wants you to complete objectives like knocking things down, shooting things, or some other point based things.
Throughout the game there are 3 ways for you to play: blast, pull, and throw.
Boom Blox Multiplayer
Now there isn’t any wi-fi multiplayer, for this multiplayer wii game, but there is a gigantic offline multiplayer mode (co-op and competitive) for 2-4 players to duke it out.
Plus you get to build your own level so you can made over infinite levels for you and your friends to play in party mode.
Co-Op Mode
In this mode you and a friend will go through challenges together. You have to pull, blast, and throw your way to victory.
There are 4 scenarios you can play in. Each of them has their own thing for you and your friend to team up together and do.
Competitive Mode
In this mode you play with 2-4 people. There are 4 options you can do when you play. Each choice has more then one way to play, and tons of stages that support that option.
- Throw – You can play Tiki Tower Topple, Numbers Game, and Plumbing (there are plenty of stages that meet the category for each of the games)
- Blast – You can play Gun Slingers and Shove of War.
- Grab – Free Dismantle, Gold Rush, and Dismantle
- Attack – Castle Attack, Bombardment, and Puck Attack
Conclusion
Boom Blox is another one of those rare multiplayer wii puzzle games that just showers you with gifts, and while you’re in awe they shower you with even more things to do
