PostHeaderIcon Harvest Moon: Musical Melody

Harvest Moon: Magical Melody is a ported Gamecube game that was brought to the Wii.  Unfortunately the changes done to the game isn’t all that great.

If you have played any harvest moon game before you should know that this game plays like them.  It’s just the fact that you’re starting over, playing with different characters, in a different town that gives this game its uniqueness.

Like any Harvest Moon game you’re given the freedom to do anything you want.

Pro:
  • Resembles the old harvest moon games with cute chibi (small) characters.
  • Compared to the new released ones this harvest moon runs a lot faster
  • Has multiplayer
  • Tons of things to do from courting, growing crops, collecting items, taking care of animals, etc
Con:
  • The multiplayer isn’t great…or even good…
  • You can’t play the female character (you could in the original)

Harvest Moon: Musical Melody Gameplay

Gameplay

Oh no!  The harvest Goddess has been turned into stone.  It’s up to you as the main character to save her from collecting musical notes.  Musical notes can be found by doing anything, taking a step, raising animals, growing crops, etc.

What does that mean?  It’s just an objective for you to accomplish!  It’s for you lazy people out there who only care about making money in this game >.< (me included).

Aside from gathering musical notes, you play just like any other Harvest moon game:

  • You buy seeds
  • Plant them
  • Water them
  • And then gather the crops to sell for massive profits.

Generally that’s all I focus my stamina (think of it like your hp, if you’re out you faint and waste the day) on.  Afterwards I do other stuff until the end of the day where I go to sleep and repeat the cycle.

Now that’s not the only thing you do.  You can:

  • Raise animals – Feed them, talk to them, and brush them
  • Go fishing
  • Go mining
  • Decorate your house
  • Build more houses
  • Talk to people and make them like you
  • Talk to girls, give them gifts, and eventually marry them.  Afterwards you get to get your own kid!
  • Celebrate festivals such as watching the moon with one of the girls or competing with your rivals in contest, etc

Now that doesn’t exactly sound as boring as simply raising and selling crops, now does it?

Harvest Moon: Musical Melody Multiplayer

Now the game does have multiplayer, but it’s just mini games.

Mini-Games

The games are really simple and you should get the game for its single player and not for its multiplayer.  The mini-games are just competitions you do during the festivals.  You can play with up to 4 friends. XD

Conclusion

Harvest Moon: Magical Melody certainly lives up to the series name.  Which mean this game is superb game if you’re into simulation farming games.

Now the game is simple repetitive stuff, but if you’re a fan you’ll learn to love it.

My only complaints with the game are: why did they remove content, ex: not that I play the female character anyways…  No seriously I don’t.

Finally I prefer this Harvest Moon game over the other ones made for the Wii.  Why?  Those games run slowly and I’m very impatient.  Not saying this game runs fast, but it’s at least bearable for impatient people that loves harvest moon.

PostHeaderIcon Data East Arcade Classics

Data East Arcade Classics is one of the ways to play varieties of olden day arcade video games, at no charge to you!

The best part is that you don’t have to pay a quarter every time you run out of lives!

The best part is that in this collection there are 15 full arcade games ready for you to play at the start.  But there is an even better part… all of these 15 games have multiplayer!!!!!

Pro:
  • What’s not to like about 15 multiplayer games?
  • Unlimited credits
  • Some form of 2-player multiplayer in all of the games!
  • Mission objectives for you to do which in term will unlock you music, image gallery, and the special mode.
  • 2 button arcade action!
  • Save and load functions
Con:
  • Besides having objectives for you to do you don’t really have much else to do.
  • The controls are confusing and don’t make much sense.
  • The controls in the game also suffer whether from porting problems or it’s just the game’s problem.

Data East Arcade Classics Multiplayer

Skip the gameplay there are 15 games and I’ll be explaining what you’ll do in all of them here anyways…

There are 3 types of multiplayer:

  • Competitive
  • Co-Op
  • Or something I made: double controls!  The games actually let your opponents with a 2nd remote controller actually help control you

The games here and what can you do in multiplayer are:

  • Wizard Fire – You and your friends choose a class (doesn’t really matter much) and go through the stages slaying monsters with magic and might.
  • Hamburger – In this game you run up and down ladders pushing hamburger buns, lettuce, patty, and lettuce down to the bottom of the screen to make a sandwich.  There’s a catch these little monsters will get in your way and will kill you in one touch.  Solution: pepper them and then drop a piece of food on them.  You compete with a friend to see who gets the most points.
  • Burnin’ Rubber – Race and ram other cars into the wall, but the most important power is to SURVIVE!  Compete against a friend to see who has the most points.
  • Express Raider – You’re a raider hijacking a train.  You fight people on train in a simple punch them, kick them/dodging combat.  Multiplayer involves getting the highest score
    • Lock’N Chase – It’s Pacman except you’re robbing a bank.  Multiplayer is the same your score vs. their score.
    • IceCream – Similar to hamburger you run around the stage pushing ice cream down into ice cream cones.  You don’t have the pepper, but instead you have the power of jumping.  Multiplayer once again is the same deal.
    • Secret Agent – Similar to Metal Slug if anyone have ever played it before.  You a suave super agent infiltrating a base to rescue the chicks and prevent a nuclear bombing.  Unfortunately multiplayer is competition related…
    • Side Pocket – Its pool.  Now this competitive multiplayer makes sense.  Sink in the balls to win the game!
    • SRD – Play in an airship combat.  It’s like the side scrolling shooting games like radian.  Once again it’s competitive.
    • Bad Dudes – The president has been kidnapped.  Are you a bad enough dude to save him?  Save the president from ninjas as you battle through stages fighting ninjas at 2 different layers.  Multiplayer involves you and a friend kicking ninja a**!
    • Caveman Ninja – In the prehistoric age you find your mom, wife, children, sister, other female relationships kidnapped by other cavemen that are jealous of your harem.  You and a friend play as a caveman run through stages throwing stones and other objects at enemies.
    • Crude Buster – An explosion happened in New York City in 2010 A.D. (notice not A.D.E.?) 20 years later the government tried to clean it up, but a street gain decided to take over, so the government sent 2 guys to infiltrate and eventually defeat the whole entire gang.  You and your friend are those 2 guys.
    • Heavy Barrel – You roam around on each stage (8 whole directions!!!!) and shoot baddies at all directions.  Best part is that you die in one hit!  Combine with friends for intense shooting action.
    • Magical Drop III – You have to take these magical bubble things coming from the top and pair them up with the same color to pop them and inflict pain to your enemies.  The game is fun for those of you fans of game similar to this.  You compete with friends to try and kill them.
    • Street Hoop – Its basketball what more can be said?

    Conclusion

Data East Arcade Classics has 15 games some fun, some moderately enjoyable.  If you enjoy arcade games or wish to reminisce in the old games this isn’t a bad game.

If you want another multiplayer game this simulation games is perfect with a whole bunch of laughs and some awesome gameplay that should have been included in some of our more modern game.

    PostHeaderIcon Bakugan Battle Brawlers

Bakugan!  Have you ever heard of it?  Saw the show?  See the toys at Toy’s R Us?  Well they’re finally here in a game.  Now you too can duke it out with giant real-life bakugans.

For those of you who don’t know what bakugan is it’s kinda like a marble strategy game.  Since there is no strategy section, I’ll just put this game in the multiplayer Simulation games section since it’s a “simulation” of the real thing.

    Pro:
    • Play it like the way you seen it on TV (giant monsters brawling it out) + more
    • Over 200 cards to use and 40 bakugans to put in your team
    • Make your own character with your own deck to challenge your friends.
    • You get to choose your own element!
    • Lot’s of cut scenes/ fighting scenes
    Con:
    • The cut scene/ fighting scenes will become repetitive and will prone you to skip everything
    • Extra skill required mini-games are time consuming and not fair.
    • It bugs me to see that the bakugans are all the same and that some are just recolored versions of each other to fit in other elements

    Bakugan Battle Brawlers Gameplay

    Controls

The game only requires the Wiimote, but it’s still complex:

You'll be watching these battle scenes!

You'll be watching these battle scenes!

    • Use the D-pad or just the Wiimote sometimes to select things
    • Press the A button to select things
    • Press the A+B button to grab your bakugans
    • When you’re throwing your bakugan press A+B and tilt the Wiimote to control it

And that’s about all to the controls.

    Gameplay

You start out as yourself wandering around the park wishing for your own talking bakugan, but then somehow one manages to fall from the sky and land in your hands.  You answer his questions and partnered up to conquer the tourneys.

Besides the odd introductions the game is still a highly quality game, which focuses a lot in graphics.

    Shake for your G power!

    Shake for your G power!

You can buy gate cards, ability cards, and bakugan with money you get from fighting other people.

The game is very unique.  In fact the battle system is a bit complex, but I’ll do my best to explain:

    • You start out Brawls with a gate card.  These things will give special affects to the bakugans who fight there based on their element.
    • Afterwards you can throw more gate cards or throw your bakugan.  You have 3 to use per battle.
    • When you select and throw your bakugan you have to roll it to a gate card whether it’s yours or your opponent.  Be careful, if you miss you skip your turn. Also you can roll it around the stage and collect power ups and other special affect cards.
    • That’s it for you, and then your opponents does thier turn.  If they put a bakugan in the same card as yours you battle.
    • In a battle you can use ability cards to boost the power of your bakugan.  After you’re satisfied you play a mini-game.  Depending on how well you do on the mini-game the more power your bakugan gets.  The bakugan at the end with the most power wins.
    • When you win a fight you get a card, get 3 of these and you win.  Another way of getting a card is to throw 2 of your bakugan on the same gate card.

Really once you get it, it’s very easy to play.  Tip: You should try upgrading one of your bakugan’s 5 stats.  Trust me it’ll help a lot.

    Bakugan Battle Brawlers Multiplayer

    Multiplayer

There’s no Nintendo WFC, but you can duel with your friends and family.  Playing against friends is unlikely, because they can’t use their own deck.  However you can play with characters from the TV show.

You can load your own deck, but you have to load it from the save.

    Conclusion

Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a very fun, intuitive game.  There are a whole bunch of gate cards and ability cards to use.  Combined with the 3-d battling monsters you’ll have a blast increasing your bakugan’s power trying to decimate your opponents.

if you want a great card strategy game, you should buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

    PostHeaderIcon Samba de Amigo

Samba De Amigo!  Is what I told my good Mexican friend when he asked me what I was doing.

He had no clue what I was saying, and really I had no clue either.

    Samba de Amigo!

    Samba de Amigo!

Anyways my point is that this game is like Dance Dance Revolution, except that you use your hands, instead of your feet.

Are you ready to forsaken your hands for one of the craziest multiplayer simulation game of maracas ever?

Get ready, this game has been improved over the decade!

    Pro:
    • Fun controls that’ll literally make your arms very sore
    • Lot’s of songs to play in, with plenty of difficulties
    Con:
    • Controls can be kind of glitch/hard to get at first.

    Samba de Amigo Gameplay

    Controls

The controls are really easy to understand, but sometimes it’s hard to do.

    • Raise the Wiimote/ Nunchuck to hit the upper circles.
    • Shake the Wiimote/ Nunchuck leveled to hit the middle circles.
    • Lower the Wiimote/ Nunchuck to hit the lower circles
    • When playing you might get pictures of Mr. Pose swinging upwards, to the left, to the right, etc.  Just copy what he shows and be awarded!

So yeah, simple controls, but things get crazy when notes fly in all direction.  Just look at one of the pictures for an idea of the “holes”.

    See the circles?

    See the circles?

    Gameplay

So yeah, I have no clue what’s the plot of this game, but you play through Mexican songs with your maracas!

Basically you choose a song and the difficulty.  However in career mode (basically the mode that gives this game purpose) you choose the difficulty and the set of music, and then the songs.

Finishing a set will give you another set, and a difficulty will give you a new one.

Once you chose a song, you’ll have to hit the notes when it’s in the circle.  Like DDR the closer you hit the note in the middle the better points you get.

    Samba de Amigo Multiplayer

In this game you have multiplayer offline and on Nintendo WFC.  However there is no multiplayer on

    Pose

    Pose

Nintendo WFC (at least I think anyways), however you can download some music online, with some Wii Points anyways.

Anyways if you thought the game is fun, you’ll find that this game is even more fun when competing with your friends!

    Quick Game

Choose a difficulty and then song, play it with your friends!

You can choose 2 modes, normal and hustle.  Hustle basically have you playing with Mr. Pose a lot (you’re going to doing a lot of poses).

    Love Love Mode

This mode has you and a friend working together trying to get in synch.  The more in synch you are the more points you get!

    Mini-game Mode

What can I say in this mode, you play mini-games specifically with the controls: like batting a piñata and posing!

    Classic Mode

Personally I have never found out what’s the difference between this mode and Quick Game.  However this mode is available!

    Conclusion

With numerous songs + the difficulty you’ll be spending a long time in this multiplayer Wii game before you can master this game.

I love how you play the game like a maraca with the Wiimote and Nunchuck, it allows me to work on my arm strength (big lie), but it’s still fun!

if you’re interested in this game with a large replability + fun arm aching gameplay, you should buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

    PostHeaderIcon Endless Ocean

From all the gore, blood, and senseless beating that is hilariously funny games come out this very peaceful and relaxing multiplayer Wii game it is Endless Ocean.

Endless Ocean is a diving simulation game.  Not only that you can also connect on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection with friends.

In this game you’ll dive around the Manoa Lai Sea, exploring caves, ruins, fishes, and all sorts of other realistic things you can find in this multiplayer simulation game.

There are all sorts of real fishes hanging around everywhere.  No, the sharks can’t hurt you at all, but there are a lot of things to do in this relaxing game.

    Pro:
    • Train animals like dolphins to swim with you
    • Very nice and relaxing music
    • Explore really unique places
    • Learn about fishes as you encounter hundreds of them in your diving sessions
    • No way to die, fail, and all sorts of negative thing that’ll drive you away.
    • You can play at your own pace
    • Beautiful scenes
    Con:
    • The game moves pretty slow
    • Besides the game move slow, the controls are sometimes sluggish, and that your character moves slowly

    Endless Ocean Gameplay

    Control

This game is only played with the Wiimote.  All you have to do is point at the screen and press B and A to move and interact with the environment, and trust me

This is actually a picture of a picture!

This is actually a picture of a picture!

there are a lot of things you’re going to see in this game.

    Gameplay

You play as a new diver exploring the sea, and there will be a lot of places to explore.

As you play through the game you’ll be introduce to many new tools and even legendary places that I always dreamed of exploring.

Not only will you be diving you’ll also be taking pictures for journalists or maybe being a guide, touring people to the undersea life.

Besides all the exploring you’ll be meeting and befriending fishes that I heard really interacts like real fishes.  Be befriending them (such as petting, poking, or even feeding them) you can get interesting facts about the fishes.

The final thing is that you can put all the fishes you met in a aquarium!  There you can free swim with them, maybe a room filled with sharks.

    Endless Ocean Multiplayer

You might not know it, but this game has multiplayer!  If you have played Animal Crossing: City Folks or maybe the other way around you can invite a friend

    Exploring the sea!

    Exploring the sea!

over to go exploring with you.

To do this just go to the other side of the boat you’re on (your base of operation) go to the other side of the boat, where there is nothing there, but a gate.  The gate allows your friends to join you.

    Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection

Yes, this is where this multiplayer Wii game shines.  What you do is invite friends to explore with you.  You can bring them anywhere you want!

However there is one catch.  If your friend is way ahead of you, you can’t go to places you haven’t unlocked before.

    Conclusion

Endless Ocean has nice and relaxing music combined with very nice and beautiful scenery.

The game combines some mythology into it so what might seem normal at first, might just become a lot cooler then you would ever think of a Wii multiplayer game.

Sometimes it’s just nice to get out of all the killings and beatings you see in other video games and look at some of the wonders of this underwater simulation game.

if you’re interested, I recommend you to buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

    PostHeaderIcon Wii Music

Being a former musician myself, I expected an edge in this game, and to a certain degree I did get that edge.  However in Wii Music you don’t need any music talents (or even ears for that matter), all you need to have is the want to play music, and a good sense of timing (tempo).

Wii Music is designed just for multiplayer!  They have all sorts of fun instruments and games for you to play in.  You can also make your “one hit blunder’ album.  The end result might be a mess of meowing sounds, but it’s fun.  Steve, quitter of all music, loves this game, and sometimes drags people to try and make his first “proper” album.  That has yet to happen, because we suck!

With all that being said unlocking new instruments and games aren’t that hard.  What you have to do is just try playing something for the first time, whether it is new games, or just music lessons.  Whatever it is you’ll have a beat with this simulation game!

    Pro:
    • There are a lot of instruments you can play.  Anything from classical to rock, to annoying meowing sounds, there’s a lot.  66 total instruments I heard.
    • Bring your Mii to music school, and form a band of your own!
    • Random playing can sometime yield great results!
    • Make videos of your performance with your friends and rank it from 0-100
    • Very simple to get into
    • There are millions of ways to play every song available.  You could skip beats, add 100 more, or just play it the way you want to (just make sure no one gets annoyed)
    Con:
    • You can’t make your own song L (although that would be kinda hard)
    • Simple is a double-edged sword, on one hand it’s easy, but if it’s too easy you get bored.

    Wii Music Gameplay

    Controls

There are 4 basic types of styles in this game.  Generally you just hold the Wiimote and Nunchuck like how you would hold the certain instrument.

The game isn't all about playing music! There are other games, and...failures...

The game isn't all about playing music! There are other games, and...failures...

    • Piano Type – This applies to drums too, just hit down with the Wiimote or Nunchuck to make music.  You can also hit them both at the same time.
    • Guitar Type – Hold the controls like a guitar and strung with the Wiimote.  By shaking the Nunchuck you can even produce things like vibrato.  Not to mention pressing buttons will add certain effects.
    • Trumpet Type – Play the Wiimote like a trumpet!  Press 1 or 2 to make music.  Holding your “instrument” up high will increase the volume while holding it down will decrease it.
    • Violin Type – Pretend that the Nunchuck is the violin, and the Wiimote is the bow.  With the Wiimote the faster you move the louder the sound is.  Pressing B, Z, or C will produce sounds.

Another cool control is pressing the D-Pad.  By pressing the D-Pad you can jump, do poses, and cause all sorts of effects to happen.  You can even cause explosions in this simulation wii game

    Gameplay

See above. Looks like I went overboard this time, so yeah… you form bands, and play classic musics like Ode to Joy, and taking music lessons.  That’s where this multiplayer Wii games shines.

There is also a more realistic drum mode where you use the Wii balance board, but since I don’t have one, I can’t say much about it.

    Wii Music Multiplayer

Wii Music offers a great variety of multiplayer since everything you can do is pratically multiplayer.  Everything, but the lessons…

It's The Attack of the Clones!

It's The Attack of the Clones!

    Jam Mode

In this mode you and your friends can play Instrument Improve, Quick Jam, and Custom Jam.

    • Instrument Improve – This mode lets you and your friends pick an instrument, and just practice with it.
    • Quick Jam – You and your friends just play a randomly selected music, with random instruments
    • Cusom Jam – You pick the song, tempo, players, instrument, and just about everything.  When you’re done, save it to a CD (in the game of course), and decorate the CD cover.  Isn’t this a fun Wii simulation game?

    Game Mode

This is the other mode in the game.  Besides the usual play in a band thing as you would expect from this multiplayer Wii game, you can also play three other

It's almost like DDR, except without the dance pad!

It's almost like DDR, except without the dance pad!

games with your friends.  They are all music orientaed.  You can unlock the next level to the games by just simply beating each of the game.

    • Mii Maestro – This time you’re the conductor, and you tell the players when to play.  What’s the catch?  You have to conduct in time with your friends.  This is where the multiplayer gets really hard.
    • Handbell Harmony – Think DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), except with bells, and that there are 8 places for the bell to be ranged at.  You only have to worry about your own though so don’t worry.  As for me I’ll never beat this game…one of my controllers are broken…
    • Pitch Perfect – Don’t worry there’s nothing hard about this.  You don’t have to hear a pitch and then tell anyone what it is.  All you have to do is play match-up.  You’ll start each round with a objective.  It could be find the person with the matching pitch, or order the musicians pitch from lowest to highest.

All you have to move on and unlock new music and stages for this mode is to simply play through it once!  You might also unlock some cool things like, oh, I don’t know…LEGEND OF ZELDA!

    Conclusion

Wii Music has a great multiplayer, especially if that’s what you’re after.  You can make music with your friends and family (or just loud music…), and 3 other fun game modes when you’re bored of making your own album.

Unlocking new songs and instruments in this game is pretty easy, as the game is more orientated in having fun, then working hard.  So with that this simulation Wii game won’t run out of new surprises for a long time.

Even after you unlocked everything there are still tons of neat instruments to play with.  One example is the cheer leader costume.  Who would have ever known that cheerleading can be part of a music?  Well maybe it’s not possible, but hey, it’s possible in this multiplayer Wii game!

if you’re interested, I recommend you to buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

    PostHeaderIcon Pokemon Battle Revolution

    Ain't that something

    Ain't that something

    If you:

    1. Love Pokemon
    2. Have a Nintendo DS
    3. Have Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum
    4. Spend long hours playing the game
    5. Have friends who share your passion for Pokemon (optional)

You should get yourself Pokemon Battle Revolution.  However if you don’t fulfill these conditions (or plan of fulfilling them) I wouldn’t recommend you to get this multiplayer game at all.

Unless you aren’t obsessive with Pokemon or watching your own Pokemon, I wouldn’t recommend you to play, because in Poketopia (the island you’re on) you’ll only be battling with other trainers and a whole bunch of Pokemons.  Also there will be no experience gain.

    Pro:
    • Battle friends and other people online with Nintendo WFC
    • See the Pokemon you spend hours and hours training in 3-D with stunning moves
    • Get some rare items and unique Pokemons for your game.
    Con:
    • Don’t even think of getting the game if you don’t have a DS
    • Battling gets repetitive

    Pokemon Battle Revolution Gameplay

    Controls

As much as I hate to admit it, but the controls to this game is pretty simple.  In a battle you just choose to attack or switch Pokemons.  Both are done quite easily

Steve's double elemental hit-recover strategy all goes to Surf

Steve's double elemental hit-recover strategy. The Lanturn is the root of it all.

with shortcuts or just clicking A on the Wiimote.

    Gameplay

You play as a trainer arriving at Poketopia.  From here you get to create your own battle pass.   Battle passes let’s you design what your characters looks like, their clothing and accessories, and more importantly your Pokemon team.

One of the first few things you should do is upload your Pokemon from the DS to the Wii.  The game will upload everything incluiding the Pokemon from you PC.  You may mix and match your Pokemon as you want.

Note: Your Pokemon are only copies, and can’t update themselves what-so-ever so if you make new progress with your Pokemon don’t forget to upload them again.

Once you have a team you can enter tournaments.  When you win you get points that lets you buy fashion things or rare useful items you can transport to your DS game.

    Pokemon Battle Revolution Multiplayer

Since this game is like a port for you to battle your friends there are multiple ways for you to battle.  This multiplayer wii game is actually the first game with

Earthquake always hurts a lot, even against legendaries!

Earthquake always hurts a lot, even against legendaries!

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.  You can battle random people or just your friends online.

    DS-To-DS Battle

Simply put it’s just like battling a friend wirelessly with your Pokemon teams (the team must be preset) on your DS.  The thing is that once you connect to the Wii your DS instantly becomes your controller.

    Free Battle

This mode allows you and up to 3 friends battle with battle passes.  You can easily get your friends to create a battle pass (just as long as they don’t take your best Pokemons), and then you can have a Pokemon battle.

    Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection

This is where you can battle people online with 3-D effects.  You can battle random people or you can battle your friends (friend codes required).  Once the battle is over you can actually trade battle passes.  If you do that you can use the team you fought against for yourself (like wise the same for them).

    Conclusion

Now I’m a Pokemania who spent too much time with my Pokemon (and a bit of Action Replay), but despite what Steve keeps on telling me, this game is still great to play.  Actually I should rephrase that: it’s great to play if you are a dedicated Pokemon fan.

Besides battling with your friends online or just next to each other, you could also get access to some rare items that can actually help out in your DS game, not to mention the surprise Pokemon you get at the end of the game.

if you have Pokemon D/P/P, I recommend you to buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

Pinball’s the name of this multiplayer wii game.  If you don’t like pinball I wouldn’t recommend you to play this game at all, because Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection is all about pinball.

Relive some of the oldest pinball games you have played in your childhood or just play them now with this pinball simulation game.

This will probably one of the closest thing one can actually get to a real Pinball game, with 10 pinball tables!  However if you want to try playing a pinball game online, go ahead, it’s not hard to find ;)

    Pro:
    • 10 very different tables with their own goals
    • Everything plays through smoothly
    • Skills matter in getting the ball to go where you want
    Con:
    • Just like in real pinball sometimes the pinball sometimes fall into the sides giving you an instant lose (unless you somehow save yourself)
    • It gets very frustrating sometimes and the pinball machine making fun of you does not help

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection Gameplay

    Controls

Z is the left flipper, B is the right flipper, and the analog stick launches the pinball.  That’s about all there is for the necessary controls.

Shaking the Nunchuck will bump to the left, shake the Wiimote and you’ll bump to the right.  Don’t bump too much, because you can get tilt, which basically makes you lose the ball.  Bumping however is useful for moving the pinball to another direction.

    Gameplay

Now just about every mode in the game has multiplayer with your friends.  There are 10 total tables for you to play with, but only a couple of them are unlocked.  You have to beat the other ones to unlock some of the new ones.

Each of the 10 different tables has open holes and long twists and turn for you to aim for.  Not only that, but all of the classic things from pinball like the bumpers are here.  By hitting just about anything in the pinball machine racks you in a lot of points.

The game itself is still fun, but sometimes it does get frustrating (especially if you’re in the middle of summer and have a bet to win).

It’s not the games fault.  It’s my fault.  Sometimes when you launch the ball it can automatically get into one of the sides giving you an instant death before you even get to touch it (of course it varies with how strong you launched the pinball).  You could solve this by bumping, but it takes practice.

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection Multiplayer

There are 2 modes you can play with your friends in.  They are tournament and arcade mode.  There really isn’t any different except that you get to choose which table you go to.

    Arcade

Here you get to play any of the 10 tables (as long as you unlocked them) to your choosing.  Each pinball machine is very different, and some requires you to pay credits (yes there’s always a catch).  You start out with 20 credits.

If you play with more people you have to pay more credits (4 players max).  That’s a real downer, but there is a way to escape from this loop.  All you have to do is buy free play.  You’ll have to pay 100 credits, but think about all of the credits you could have lost paying for the games every time.

    Tournament

4 players can play tournament mode for X amount of tables.  Don’t worry about Wiimotes, because you can just share one.  The game gives you points based off of your score so the better you do the more points you get.  If you get the most points in the end you win!

    Conclusion

This is a great game with complex yet simple controls.  The game features a ton of flashing lights, so beware!  I personally find the first one (Taxi) The one I can score the most on (One million!).  Remember to utilize the tilt, and the ability to knock the ball left and right.

The game can be frustrating at times, but it can also be simplistic to the point of underestimation.  Do NOT underestimate the game, ‘cause if you do, you’ll find yourself crying over the game’s extremely hard high score that you just can’t beat.  Truthfully, it’s the whole “tilt” element and the “100%” deaths that will aggravate you. Seem easy?  Well, it ain’t!

    PostHeaderIcon Thrillville: Off the Rails

Thrillville: Off the Rails is a multiplayer simulation game.  The game is simulation, but the multiplayer isn’t so much.

Thrillville is not a real theme park so don’t worry if you never heard of it, but worry if you have never played a good theme park building simulation game, because this game is one of the best.

    Pro:
    • Play with a big range of mini games
    • Build your own theme park
    • Make your own roller coasters
    • You can ride/work on all of your rides and stalls
    • Fun for anyone, make people like you, or even make them hate you
    Con:
    • Some mini games aren’t that great

    Thrillville: Off the Rails Gameplay

Thrillville: Off the Rails is a very simple and interactive game for the wii.  You can just jump into the multiplayer action with 50 games, some you have to unlock.

There are fun mini-game like these where you and a friend go shoot enemies. Too bad the controls are a bit sluggish

There are fun mini-game like these where you and a friend go shoot enemies. Too bad the controls are a bit sluggish

But if you want to enjoy those roller coaster rides you will want to go to the story mode.

In the story you’re a new manager to the thrillville industry.  As the new manager you must keep your theme park up and working, and stop the evil plots of global-joy.

Create your own thriving theme park, and then hang around making fun of everybody, or just listen to their complaints and compliments.

Here you can do anything you want:

    • Buy rides, stalls, and games.
    • Play mini games involving the buildings you buy.
    • Build roller coasters.
    • Mingle and befriend your visitors.
    • Do missions that involve doing something involving things mentioned above and more.

Every time you complete missions or just plain buy and play new things you get thrill points.  Once you get enough you promote onto the next level, and eventually can move on in the game.

    Thrillville: Off the Rails Multiplayer

You have to unlock some of it, but you get to play mini games with your friends. You can play a ton of games, via wiimote swinging, or just plain old button mashing.  You can access the 50 games at the start menu.  There’s a giant range of games to play.

Of course you can and your friends could build a park and then pretend you’re actually riding a ride (that you can actually go on, did I mention no waiting?), and then just go with the flow.

    Conclusion

This game is a half decent social simulator, but that’s not the point. The point of the game is to play mini games, and ride your own rides. And, if you want, you can make your own ride, with some…limitations, like energy or money.  No problem what-so-ever!

if you’re interested, I recommend you to try renting this game first at Gamefly (although 50 mini-games are nice) starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

    PostHeaderIcon Trauma Center: New Blood

Warning: This game is not for you if you can’t stand blood or the thought of cutting anybody open.  You have been warned.

Trauma Center: New Blood is your gateway to a simplified surgery multiplayer game.  In the future there will be many medical break through.  You’ll be playing doctors that will have an important part in future events.

If you can’t do operations by yourself, either practice, or…call for the help of a friend to help you.  In this multiplayer wii game you can get your friends to help you in every operation.  They have all the tools you have.

Even with friends to help you the game switches things up by adding difficulty settings from easy to hard mode.  How’s that for a 2-player Co-Op game?

Ouch! You have to fix bones too.

Ouch! You have to fix bones too.

    Pro:
    • Fun, addicting operations
    • 2 player Co-Op
    • Gives you a small feel of what surgery is like
    • puzzles that’ll have you using the old noggin
    Con:
    • Sometimes you’ll face situation that is hard to handle, because of the controls

    Trauma Center: New Blood Gameplay

If you know what surgery is, you’ll pretty much understand this game.  Every operation you’ll have two playable doctors (Dr. Markus Vaughn and Valerie

You also have to do operations outside of the person!

You also have to do operations outside of the person!

    Blaylock).

Your goal for each operation varies, but you have one goal: save the patient, and get as much points as possible.  You lose either by running out of time or for the lack of better words: die.

There are 8 tools you can use.  The tools are:

    • Antibiotic Gel: This is the miracle gel in the future that could heal minor wounds and sterilize things.
    • Syringe: By injecting fluid into the person you can regain their vitals.  The higher the difficulty the less this heals, but it’s still a great life saver.
    • Suture: This is used to close wounds on the person to prevent them from bleeding even more, damaging their vitals.
    • Drain: Like the name suggest, this tool drains the blood, and any other liquid substance.
    • Laser: This is used to ZAP stuff that you ordinarily can’t do anything about.
    • Ultra Sound: This allows you to move around the patient’s body.  You use this to find hidden problems in the patient’s body.
    • Scalpel: This is the fancy name given to a small, but sharp knife used for medical purposes.  You use this to cut into the patient’s body, cut things off, and other things.
    • Forceps: Forceps are pinchers.  This tool is how you move things around in the patient’s body.

    Trauma Center: New Blood Multiplayer

There is wi-fi in this game, but it just a ranking system that let us share our scores on each operation online.  Bragging rights at least!

What this multiplayer simulation game does have is 2-player Co-Op.  You can play Co-Op in every operation in this wii game.

    2 player Co-Op mode

This game is: the only if not few surgery game that has Co-Op that feels and plays like a true Co-Op game.  You and your friend can each do your own thing, or you can come up with a plan

    Conclusion

Trauma Center: New Blood is a must play game.  It doesn’t matter if you want to be a surgeon or not, because the plot and gameplay will drag you in (as long as you don’t get stuck somewhere).

if you’re interested, I recommend you to buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!
