Fifa 2009
Ah yes, the game where you can trip people, while doing a sweet dash slide. Oh, but you can’t do it repeatedly, because SOME people consider that violent. So it counts as a foul. So yeah, you’re stuck assimilating the souls of the players and using them to sprint around and kicking the ball like soccer!
The shots you kick are ridiculously overpowered over-head shots that will literally land far too far from your comrades if not controlled properly, seriously. Of course, that’s because I didn’t go to the Soccer Academy, but I got the control scheme down, so no worries.

Fifa 2009 Soccer All Play Gameplay
This game. Is a game. Where apparently, you’re in a tournament. And every team in existence is participating. Oh, and no one gets a big shiny trophy in the end. But, you can kick people, and crush all their hopes and dreams by beating them. Isn’t that great?
On the bright side, this means you get a lot of tripping, and practice realigning you’re wiimote a lot, but that’s about all. Oh, also, you get…wait for it….you get credits for your credit card! To buy stadiums and balls!
Fifa 2009 Soccer All Play Multiplayer
You’re basically gonna play against each other, each as another team, to fight to the death. Oh, and sometimes, you can play as a random team, or a randomly generated team with your Mii!
You can also play on the Nintendo WFC WITH REAL OTHER PEOPLE. While playing your favorite team, against other people’s favorite team! Then prove your team is the bestest ever by beating their team! Isn’t that great?
Conclusion
Well, through days of kicking, passing, sprinting and nunchuck removing, you’ve finally done it! And what do you get? Not even a shoddy T-Shirt! Just some new balls and stadiums. High-Five! Yeah, I know. There isn’t even an actual tournament mode on this thing! So yeah.
A good sports game, it is fun. Especially if you tackle everyone in sight, counter their free shot, and repeat! Overall, this game is good if you’re looking for a nice game of soccer, especially with your friends, whom do not notice the stars or the stats!

Virtua Tennis 2009 Gameplay
Controls
Okay it’s a tennis game, but still the game is still a tennis game. You know how you hit the ball, you have to figure out when to hit to get it where?
Well in this game there is a meter that shows you where the ball is compared to your height, simply put the game tells you when to hit the ball to get the desired direction.
- Swing the Wiimote to hit the ball
- Use the nunchuck to move around (or take it off and the game moves for you)
The movement thing is pretty similar to Grand Slam Tennis if you haven’t noticed. You have to swing weaker, at specific times, etc to do lobs and many other special shots as oppose to pressing specific buttons.
Gameplay
You play tennis. If you’re not interested in tennis I somehow doubt you’ll be here so I’m sure you know.
You can just jump into the game or you can go to World Tour Mode and:
- create your own custom character
- Play mini-games/matches for money
- And then buy equipments and all sorts of other goodies
Be warned the game follow real time so everything you do waste stamina you have to take vacation/breaks when you’re out
You’ll be taught by the legendary tennis player Tim Henman. He really doesn’t help you except for tutorials and improving your characters. When you’re ready take the tennis game online!
Virtua Tennis 2009 Multiplayer
What’s there to say? Online matches + offline matches (with friends) + mini-games = lot’s of things to do.
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
Play online with other people in a ranking system. Win and go up against harder people, lose and well, play with people more of your… stature.
Offline Matches
You play singles or doubles, up to 4 people total can play. Choose your courts and other fun options and try to get aces.
Mini-Games!
There are 12 mini-games and they are:
- Alien Attack – Attack alien blocks with ground strokes (note: the alien shoots the ball at you)
- Avalanche – Collect fruits as tennis balls come flying at you!
- Block Buster – It’s like playing tennis with a wall, except the wall breaks and you get points for it!
- Count Mania – It’s the dreaded, hit the specific area of a court game. Hit a spot that’s labeled with numbers starting from 1.
- Court Curling – Hit the ball into a space to get points
- Drum Topple – There are red drums. You have to hit them with your best shot to knock them down!
- Meat Defender – Protect the meat on your side from crocodiles. No…you’re not going to smack them with your racket, you’re going to hit ground strokes at them
- Pin Crusher – Think bowling + Tennis.
- Pirate Wars – Pirate ships shoot tennis balls and cannon balls. Avoid the cannon, but try to hit the tennis ball back at the ships.
- Pot Shop – Think pool/billiards + Tennis balls as the cue stick.
- Shopping Dash – Collect shopping items while avoiding getting hit by tennis balls.
- Zoo Feeder – Animals are hungry! The zookeeper will throw food at you, and it’s your job to strike it at the animal.
Conclusion
With a lot of mini-games and the classic tennis matches, this is a great bundle of fun.
The controls are somewhat unique combined with the bars and specific ways to hit special balls make this game even more unique.
To top it all of the game also has Nintendo WFC! Sweetish!
If you’re interested in tennis games you should buy this game since it’s pretty new, but you can also rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

Sega Superstars Tennis
So, nostalgia, am I right? Remember Beat? That “Up Up Down Down Chu Chu Chu Chu” thing? No? Well, you’d only remember if you had a Dreamcast, but still!
Remember how Sega had the Dreamcast? Well, that indicates that like, ninety percent of all Dreamcast games are Sega. THAT INCLUDES JET GRIND SKATE, BUBS!!
Superstar Sega Tennis is one of those semi-swell games with a lot of endorsements.
Some of them are really old, but none the less good. Remember NiGHTS? Jet Grind Skate? Well, they’re there and more. Like Alex Kidd!

Sega Superstars Tennis Gameplay
Controls
The game is rather simple.
- Swing your wiimote to swing.
- the nunchuck is for movement. As with the D-Pad.
- And, like that other TENNIS game, you can press the “AB (A and B)” button to go SUPER FOOOOOOOOOORRRMMM!!! When your meter is charged. When this happens everytime you hit the ball you get special curves.
Gameplay
Okay, so you’ll be flying from planet to planet to compete in TENNIS!! Also, you need to build your rep, so you can join other joints. And then you unlock other characters and maps.
NOW GO FIGHT TO THE DEATH!!…Errrrr…GO TENNIS TO THE DEATH UNTIL YOU PASS OUT FROM EXHAUSTION MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL YOUR BODY’S FATIGUE FINALLY BRINGS YOU TO DEEEEEEEAAAATHHHH.
Sega Superstars Tennis Multiplayer
So right, you’ll be playing singles or doubles with 2 to 4 friends. Yes Nintendo WFC here! Not just good ol’ fashion LAN. Okay, now then, you play with/as a lot of people.
Also, ironically, you can choose the same person, have your friend choose the same person, and meet another person who did the same thing with the same characters and have 4 of the same people!
Conclusion
In this game, you’re basically a tennis guy. Swing that racket. Win. Rinse and repeat. Also, you have minigames, but they’re not very good. I think. Whatever. This game isn’t a must have, but if you liked those Ye Old Characters, you should get this game.
Another thing: the maps have attributes, as do the characters. Speed, Power, you get the drill. Also, watch out for those stampedes! So yeah, that’s about it. Not exactly a must have, but still pretty swell.

Madden NFL 09
Okay, before you get too deep in, I thought I’d just warn you that the game is more think then do. You’re more likely to think of an extremely elaborate yet random looking path then to make a straight shot. Of course, sometimes, the straight shot may confuse some people.
This multiplayer Wii game is just a giant mind game. You’ll have to confuse people with elaborate tricks, and, if you don’t make a huddle where someone hides in the bathroom while you scheme, you’ll have to make your strategy confusing yet simple.

Madden NFL 09 Gameplay
Controls
You’ll be basically swinging the back and forth to pass, and, while making a play, point and A to move it around. Ummmmmmmm… I think that’s all you need to know. Except “Z” and left/right to throw.
Gameplay
You’re playing as a real life official football team. You’re playing other AI teams, and sometimes, your own friends. And, you can go into a pocket paradox dimension and play against yourself. Errrr…your own team…your team’s alternate. Don’t ask me. Also, your team has stats. That’s right, STATS. Some will be better at defense, attack, ect.
Madden NFL 09 Multiplayer
This game has multiplayer. You can play against either your friends, or Nintendo WFC. Ummm…go online and fight to the death end of the game. Okay, that’s it. I swear.
Conclusion
You’ll have to fight to mosh…brawl…tackle? Whatever, you’ll have to tackle the guy with the ball, get across, and make punts to score points. Just keep in mind, if you go crazy, and score point, you’re probably the luckiest man ever.
Madden ‘09 is a excellent game for football lovers, and people who can’t play for some reason, like a sprain ankle. While the concept of running and throwing seems easy, you’ll find that if you try it like this, you’ll only find yourself 50 points down. All and all, this game is an excellent sports game, although with a little too much strategy involved. Just like real life!
if you’re interested in this game with big teams, unlimited play, and Football, you should buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

Punch Out!
Starting from 1984 Punch-Out is a long time remake of the game Punch-Out. Now it’s ported to the Wii with 16 old and memorable fighters to face off against Little Mac (you).
However for my case, my first experience with Punch Out was in Animal Crossing! No, not Animal Crossing: City Folks, the original. Anyways you can find a NES game console with the game Punch Out!
Battles can last a long time, unfortunately the game only has one multiplayer, we (Steve and I), for once actually agreed that the game itself makes up for the lack of multiplayer (however the multiplayer matches could be pretty intense).

Punch-Out! Gameplay
Controls
Basically, use the wiimote in a punching motion to punch. You get a star for hitting the other fighter in certain times. You can press “A” + swing for a star punch.
Use the control stick to dodge and aim up and down for high and low punches.
Gameplay
In this multiplayer Wii game you play as Little Mac a small 18 year old man that’s He’s 5 feet 7 inches tall, and 107 pounds planning to take on the big leagues.
You’ll be fighting against some of the classic characters from the original Punch-Out game. The game is still played the same way, leading to an intense, but yet simple battle.
You’ll be entering boxing circuits, but don’t think it’s over once you beat them all. No after you do that you unlock a new mode: Title Defense. This is basically an excuse to fight the stronger variation of the fighters you previously beat. After that Last Stand Mode is unlocked. If you lose 3 matches at this point Mac will retire and you can’t play career mode ever again.
Punch-Out! Multiplayer
This game only has one multiplayer mode. Now it might not be much, but in this mode either you or a friend can become Giga Mac, by dodging each others
moves.
Head-to-Head
The one and only, multiplayer to this multiplayer wii game is…Head-to-Head! What you do is simple. Beat your opponent in split screen. Who’s your opponent? Obviously your friend!
Like I mentioned above to become Giga Mac one of you just have to keep on dodging. Eventually you’ll gather enough strength to do so. When this happens, the screen changes into a single screen where it’s Little Mac vs. Giga Mac.
Conclusion
Punch out is one of the very few games that successfully use the Wii’s motion detection potential. The game never gets repetitive, as you’ll need a new strategy for every opponent. The opponents might be the endless onslaught type, or the preservative type, waiting for the right time…the right time…wait for it….FALCO PAUNCH!!
While the story mode is pretty easy if you beat the NES version of it, afterwards is what’s spiteful. Show your moves! Beat everyone with your bare boxing gloves, then evade, Falcon Paunch, block, punch punch punch. Sounds boring? It’s not. Try it!

Grand Slam Tennis
Being a tennis player myself I love to play these tennis games. Now it won’t help me improve what so ever, but it does help give me some in-depth look into the game, and gives me the “Hey! I can do that, but I don’t!” speech.
In Grand Slam Tennis not only can you play as some famous tennis players, but you can create your own crew of players (8 total players) to play against these legendary players and even more people online.
In this multiplayer sports game things may be hard at first, but stick with it, because if you keep on trying you’ll eventually win those matches with a flying ace.

Grand Slam Tennis Gameplay
Now for once, this game isn’t always easy to play. In fact it can be a very frustrating gaming experience sometimes. First of all by pressing the A button you do a lob (a high bouncing shot), and by pressing B while swinging you do a drop shot (a weak, low bouncing ball).
By swinging downward you do a slice shot (a curving green colored shot), a straight swing gives you a flat shot (a pretty straight, strong shot), and upward for a topspin (a high bouncing red shot).
Now sometimes by swinging too hard you might hit the ball out of the court so you can’t go crazy hitting things (of course sometimes that’s not always true).
In Grand Slam Mode you get to play as your own custom made characters as you try to win the 4 grand tournaments while facing against legendary players. If you beat them, you get a new ability for you to equip to boost your own skills.
Grand Slam Tennis Multiplayer
There are tons of ways for you to play with your friends in Grand Slam Tennis. First of all you can play normal matches, go play games with different rules in
party mode, and go play with your friends online with Nintendo WFC. Friend codes aren’t totally necessary.
Note: You can play your very own custom created character in all of the modes.
Play Now
As the name suggests you get to play a regular match with your friends in either singles, or doubles. Don’t worry if you don’t have enough people, because you can always get a computer to fill in.
Party Mode
Here are 13 games where you can play with your friend. Never get over confident and mess it all up in the end. I did this once. It was a timed game. I was the champion (meaning I was going to win) with 5 seconds of the game left. I played and lost in 4 seconds. I never had a chance…
Inside this mode are party session and quick game.
- Party Session – Here you play 13 types of tennis games with 2-4 players. You choose about how long you want to play, the rules of the game, and then one of the 13 tennis games to play, don’t worry there not just normal matches!
- Quick Game – Unlike going through a competition to see who’s the pro. You just simply choose one of the 13 party games to play. In this mode you can play by yourself if you wish.
Online
Here is where you stake your countries reputation at stake. Here you’ll see whether if your county is the best, if you’re the best player in your country, and if you’re the best player in the world!
When you first connect to Nintendo WFC on this game you have to agree to EA’s terms and conditions. Once you do that you can play online, but if you want the full experience you have to sign up for an EA account.
Once you’re online you can play with friends you signed up with friend codes, or just play random people. You can only play ranking matches if you have an account. Finally you can play doubles online if you have a friend or family member play as a second person!
Conclusion
Besides learning how to play the game and the controller difficulties, I had a blast playing this game, and I still do! Being able to make your own character and play them in realistic courts, and not to mention really swing your wiimote to hit the ball adds a bit of self accomplishment.
You know you’re having fun when you constantly making your opponents run to the left, and then end them by hitting the ball to the right!
if you’re interested, you should buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!

Mario and Sonic At The Olympic Games
I’ve always been a great fan of Mario and Sonic games. However if I was given a choice I would take Mario games (I prefer the old sonic adventure styled games compare to what it is now).
In this multiplayer Olympic game one would expect sonic to dominate every running event being able to move at the “speed of sound”, but that’s not happening here.
In this multiplayer party sports game you play Olympic events with characters from both Mario and sonic games. You can also bring in your mii if you want.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Gameplay
Playing through the events in the Olympic Games is easy. First you start off by choosing a game single match mode or circuit mode…
…and then choose a character from 4 groups: power, speed, skill, and all-round. If you want to you can even bring in your mii to battle against these licensed heroes.
In the events you just have to swing your wiimote like you’re swimming, running, or whatever other events you’re doing and press buttons for whatever reason like charging up for a super dash in a race.
If you’re really confident you’ll do well in an event you can challenge the event and double your score, but make sure you chose right, because you only get to use it once.
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Multiplayer
Like you expect from a sort of multiplayer party game you can play through all of the events and circuits with your friends. However there is no Nintendo WFC involved.
You can play all of the events with 4 people. Of course you all need your own wiimote and nunchuck.
Single Match Mode
In this mode you play with any event of your choosing, that is, as long as you unlocked them.
You can only unlock new circuits by playing through circuit mode 1-player and win.
Circuit Mode
Here you can battle in groups of events with your friends. You don’t choose what they are. They are grouped together in a circuit so what you choose is what you get.
Note: You can only unlock new stuff by playing one player
Conclusion
Also, being a multiplayer sports game has made me come to conclusion. I’ll put it in both the multiplayer party and sports game section. Anyways…
…The game is an interesting one, as well as slick. You get to choose characters from Mario and sonic (title characters might I mention). Not only that you get to compete in the Olympics with a whole lot of events to play with.

Super Mario Sluggers
Mario Super Slugger is a multiplayer sports game that allows you to get away from it all. It takes you to a mushroom world where people can pitch 2 trick balls at you, throw a giant turtle shell of pain at you, counter with several twisty, double firey balls of doom, and still be considered legal.
Not only can you swing so hard that the baseball catches on fire, but in this multiplayer game you can make a two man ladder to catch home runs.
So let’s get the game started!

Mario Super Sluggers Gameplay
It's day time!
Playing Baseball is the meat of this wii sports game.
Now there is an adventure mode where you play as Mario restoring peace and destruction from Bowser in Peaches newest baseball stadium, but you still play baseball.
You choose a star player (team captain) and then the rest of your team, which can include your mii. Every character has stats.
You then choose the field to play in. Every field has something special about it. For example in one field there’s a chain chomp that’ll chase the people in the outfield.
Pitching Team
On the field your star character pitches. However just, because a star character doesn’t have good pitching stats doesn’t mean you’re doomed. You can always
call time out and switch pitchers.
As the pitched you can throw fast balls, slow balls, lobs, you name it. If you’re pitching with you star characters and the star gauge at the bottom of the screen. Charge your pitch and the press A + B at the same time to use a star pitch.
If they do hit the ball get your character to run to it by using the nunchuck. Don’t give up, because if you catch if you get the batter out.
Batting Team
Just like pitching, or wii sports, swing to charge your ball and then hit the ball flying at you. Star character can do star swings by swinging while holding onto A and B at the same time.
Once you hit the ball you swing your wiimote back and forth just like you’re running to the base. Sometimes you’ll be able to throw items to stall your opponents from getting the ball.
Mario Super Sluggers Multiplayer
‘Mario Super Sluggers would have been fun with wi-fi, but it doesn’t have it, oh well… Anyways you can play 2 baseball modes and a whole bunch of mini games.
Exhibition
This is the mode where you play baseball with one of your friends. Choose one of the 12 playing fields (counting the night version), and then choose your teams. Set the positions and then game on!
Toy Field
In this mode you play with 3 other friends. Choose a player, and then you enter a field with numerous amounts of numbers on the floor. One of the player pitches and the rest of the players try to catch the ball. You all start out with 300 coins. The person who has the most in the end wins.
You can play this game in teams of two with one of your friends if you want.
Mini Games
You get to play 12 mini games, with 4 players. They are all different, depending on day or night. However, these are all played by playing parts of the normal game.
Conclusion
It is a great game, even if you do not like baseball, or even know HOW to play baseball. It isn’t extremely frustrating if you miss the ball, like in real life. You can hit the ball with more ease then in real life ‘cause it’s a video game, and you can’t get ball or anything else.

Wii Sports Gameplay
You know how sports are (at least I hope you do). You’ll have no problem figuring out how each of these multiplayer sports game work. But if you want a cheap way to play though you can always shake your wiimote like mad (my ultimate secret method to win tennis and boxing games!)
Wii Sports Multiplayer
In this game, you play multiple party games. The games are two players, and the specifics are below.
Tennis
You and a clone play doubles. You can play 4-players with 3 other friends, because each person plays one of the players (yes it has to be doubles).
Boxing
You and a friend grab a wiimote and a nunchuck and start boxing! The two controllers are your fists. Swing one, and you swing in the game. Not only can you block you can actually move around and dodge blows.
Bowling
You hold the “B” button and swing the wiimote. Aim for a wee bit to the left or right of the center to get a
strike. You can play with up to 4 people.
Baseball
One team will pitch, and another will swing. You can only play with another person so, no, you can’t have somebody play every batter (or maybe can you…).
Golf
Personally this is the game I stink most at. You can play with 4 people, and you try to sink a hole (make the golf ball go in the hole). Remember the person with the lowest score wins (a lesson I learned the hard way, and I though I was winning too…).
Wii Fitness
This mode challenges you to 3 mini-games of any of the 5 sports (you can play them if you wish). Depending on how well you do you get graded with your wii age. By doing so you can compete with your friends in who’s the healthiest and “youngest” of the group.
Conclusion
Wii sports is your first multiplayer wii game whether you want it or not (assuming you bought a new wii). But overall, it is quite enjoyable. It was my favorite multiplayer game for a long time (Of course, it was the only game I had for a

Mario Strikers Charged
What happens when you combine Mario with sports? You get a multiplayer sports game with whacky character, and even wackier moves.
This game is born from Mario with soccer. Soccer has never been wackier and far from normal then it has ever been.
Like all multiplayer wii sports games from Mario all of the characters have their own signature moves and such, and the fields are far from what we would call realistic sometimes.

Mario Strikers Charged Gameplay
When playing a match you start out by choosing your team. You choose your team captain from the Major characters of Mario and then the minor characters as side kicks. Each has their own stats. Then after that you choose the map and then game on!
You have to fight your way to victory by shaking your wiimote to tackle your opponent (careful not to tackle someone without the ball, that’ll give them an item) and pressing the direction pad to use your character’s special move.
By holding on to the kick button the character that you’re controlling will charge and then hit a super shot.
Mario Strikers Charged Multiplayer
Besides playing random computers and entering tournament mode in Mario Strikers Charged. You’ll be playing against your friends, and if they’re anything like
mines they’ll be saying things like “I don’t get it” or “You’re cheating, somehow…”
Mario Strikers Charged is the multiplayer wii game you want. You can play locally with your friends next to you, and you can play with friends and random people online with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
In fact I’m writing this after I played online with some random person (lost badly, 0-2).
If you want to play with random people go ahead, but if you want to play with friends that’s another story. To that you once again have to set up friend codes.
Domination Mode
This is where you and a friend duke it out in this 2-player sports game. Pick you characters, you know what to do. What’s different is that you can change some rules to the matches.
Nintendo WFC
To play this online sports game with a friend to have to registered your friend codes, or you can do what I love most about a video game: random match up. When I played with people it was slow, but afterwards I was so into it (or it fixed itself) that I didn’t notice it.
You get to play a random person of your skill level, and depending on how you do you can lose or gain points to your score. Everybody has a score and is ranked in the ladder board.
Whenever I felt down I look in the ladder board and say “Well at least I’m better then those players!”
Conclusion
It’s amazing how Mario Strikers charged can get so addicting (and physically violent) to anyone, even people who don’t like soccer.
Soccer combined with the Mario-style of wackiness is amazing how strategy and skills are required and not only using over-powered moves that are hard to pull of.
