Multiplayer Wii Games FTW!

Deadly Creatures

Bugs do you like them?  Or do you hate them?  Well I… HATE THEM, they just freak me out… but still the temptation to play as a tarantula and a scorpion was too much for me and I played Deadly Creature.

The game is nothing short, but amazing, and creepy… You play through 10 chapters of the game in the desert doing what animals do, survive!

You’ll encounter many other preys that you can hunt and brutally kill, and even some of the bigger ones like snakes and even humans!

Pro:
  • It does a good job making an insect-like prospective with the sounds and everything
  • 2 very different fighting styles with the tarantula and the scorpion.
  • Boss fights are really, really fun
Con:
  • While the boss fights are fun there aren’t a lot of them
  • Since the game is more like a survival game there aren’t much plot, except for the 2 gold hunters that show up every now and then

Deadly Creatures Story

Story

There isn’t much of a plot in the game.  You get to roam around in each stage.  It’s not like completely free roam, but you get a lot of space to do what you want to do.

The only thing of not that happens that isn’t everyday survival is that as the scorpion and tarantula you watch 2 humans (the only humans in the game) look for gold.

Deadly Creature Gameplay

Gameplay

Now we’re getting to the juicy party, bug juicy part…  The game has you playing between a scorpion and a tarantula.  You just wander across each stage brutally massacring anything using the Wiimotes and Nunchucks.  And not only that, the motion sensing is really good, no mess ups, except for the mess of rats, bugs, and anything else you kill.

The Tarantula is play more stealth like you stealthly approach them, pounce them, spider web them, and then fang them.

The Scorpion is more action-based having you charging toward the enemy, and sting them with your venomous tail.  And just plain ripping everything apart.

Personally I would like to think that playing the spider is like playing Metal Gear Solid 1-4 in general, and playing the scorpion is what I think Metal Gear Solid Rising will be like.

If you don’t follow or know anything about Metal Gear Solid, don’t worry about it, it’s not for the Wii, unfortunately…

Conclusion

What can I say?  Deadly Creature is one of the best Nintendo game I have seen in a long time, with 2 different creatures you can play, the boss fights are awesome and finally the plain creepy sensation of playing a bug killing other bugs and animals.  *shivers*

The game is true to its name calling itself deadly creatures as you  scour the desert following the humans and watching their story unwrap while you just wander around stinging, and biting anything in your way.
