Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat was the first (and only as I recalled) to use the bongos for the GameCube. Well the game is back for the Wii, but unfortunately not the Bongos… Anyways it could be a plus since you no longer have to buy bongos either!
This Nintendo game is all about getting a lot of beats and by getting to the end of the map. With a lot of fast pace movement and “drumming” you’ll be sweating for Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat!

Donkey Kong: Jungle Beats Gameplay
Gameplay
In the previous game you tap the bongos to move, well not so much this time. You control with your Wiimote and Nunchuck. You move with the analog, and you press buttons (or other motion commands) to do things like jumping and clapping.
That’s not all that’s different in this Nintendo game. Another new thing is that instead of getting bananas to get beats to save yourself when you get hit, you have your own set of HP in form of hearts.
Another thing is that some of the maps and modes have been tweaked for the Wii.
The game itself is still the same. You play in a set of “kingdoms”. There you just move, jump, and blast your way to the end, but the most important part is collecting bananas. There are 3 stages for each kingdom. The first 2 stages always involve racing, and puzzle solving, like a platforming game should have, but the 3rd stage involves fighting bosses.
While in each stage you’ll encounter enemies and problems. What you do is clap and 2 rings will appear a small red one and a big green one. Enemies in the red one instantly die while enemies in the green one will be stunned, allowing you to jump on them and give them the pummeling of their life!
Conclusion
In conclusion if you have played the old one, and still have it you’re not missing much as expected of a ported game, but if you don’t have it anymore, and still want to play it, this is a great opportunity to play it without having to buy the bongo set!
With fast pace movement, great sceneory, unique gameplay, and just fun, fun, fun stages you can’t go wrong with DK:JB!
