Mario Strikers Charged offers extreme sports to the…extremes.  Well playing with other people and computers could be hard if you have no clue what you’re doing, or if you don’t even have a strategy or any ideas on how to score.  I’ll show you some neat tricks you can pull to get some points.

Mario Strikers Charged Tips

Online

If you’re online never quit, even if you’re losing badly (however if you have a very crappy connection that’s maybe acceptable).  Even if you lose you still gain points to your ranking, but if you quit, you lose 50 whole points!  You get points based off of whether you won (+10) or lost (+1), and the amount of goals you made (+10 being the max you can get).

Balance Team

Another thing you should is choose a balance team.  It doesn’t matter if your characters are the strongest shooters in the game if they never get the chance to shoot the ball, or it doesn’t matter if they’re fast if your shots are weak.  However, if you chose similar characters based off of a tactic then that’s perfectly fine.

Another thing, if you feel like playing Mario then play Mario.  Just know that you might have to adjust to their capabilities.  Remember having a variety of characters can help anyone.

Jumping The Goalie

This can only be done with 3 characters: Diddy Kong, Peach, and Toad.  Once you have the ball run up to the goalie, using items or whatever you have to do to get them out of your way.  Finally when you get to the goalie and he leaps at you (sometimes standing in front of him won’t do it), use your deke (d-pad), and jump above him.  After that quickly shoot the ball in!

Note: Sometimes he can still grab you, and maybe eventually completely nullify the tactic, because like people the goalie learns from his mistakes.

Boos invincibility

Same as the tactics above, except it’s only for Boo.  When the goalie dives at you press the D-pad and then quickly make your shot!  This could also work with other characters like Dry Bone who has a move that makes them temporarily invincible.

Using Items

We all know that items are in the game for a reason, but instead of clearing your way to the goal there are other uses for them.  Instead you could use it to stop anyone getting close to you as you charge your Mega Strike.  This way you could get more then just one point

Lob Passes

Hold Z and then pass the ball.  This way you can surprise your opponents and sometimes more safely pass the ball to your other teammates, be careful though, because doing this will make a hole on the floor appear.  If your opponents get to it and passes (A) it before you get to it, you my friend just lost the ball.

Fake Shots

What this does is pass the ball while looking like you’re going to shoot the ball.  What you have to do is presses B to shoot the ball, and then while you’re charging press A to pass it.

Intercepting Shots

It’s pretty easy to intercept shots.  Just tackle into the ball that’s being passed to take it for yourself.
