The Metal Slug games itself is a short game (assuming you play the game with unlimited credits). Metal Slug Anthology has 7 of these games all added together. You can easily finish the game in a couple of hours if you wish, but to get the true frustration you must play with credits!
As you can tell, by playing through the game, the game is designed to eat up quarters (seriously you’re timed, enemies are everywhere, and the bosses are hard to dodge and beat!). Luckily for us though, we don’t need to pay any quarters!
Fighting Vehicles
Using bombs (almost spamming them) is the best way to take down enemy tanks, airplanes too! Just be sure to pay attention to how much you have left. However if worse comes to worse, you can usually just duck and shoot the tanks. They’ll be powerless against you!
Weapons Have Ammos!
All weapons you pick up have ammos! I was really surprised when I first noticed, but this game isn’t like Contra. You don’t get unlimited upgraded weapons. So use your weapons sparingly.
Rescue Prisoners
You might not know it, I might not know it, and they probably don’t know it, but if you rescue prisoners they’ll give you items (they give you points), and new weapons (which they could have used to free themselves).
Using The Most Out Of Tanks

So, the best course of option you can do is to dodge, and attack back when you get the chance. The tanks gun aiming control is based on the direction you turn. So it’s best to dodge and save yourself a tank for something important! Just remember to jump out of the tank when it’s going to explode.
Auto-Fire
If you want to shoot fast, and continuous shots you could either, click the shooting button (whatever it is) like mad, or turn the auto-fire controls on. Beware: you’ll still run out of ammos, so make use of it!
