If you lovee playing Spectrobes 1 or 2 for the Nintendo DS, you’ll love this game, but the combat system is way better then the first and second game.

The gist of this multiplayer Wii game is to kick enemy Krawl’s butt, excavate minerals and spectrobes, and raise your newly gained Spectrobes up into adults!

You’ll be playing the character we all know and love to hate, Roland and this time you can play as Jeena too!  Yay for no sex’s discrimination!

The game’s like Pokemon, but has its own unique twist.  There are over 100 types of Spectrobes for you to find and evolve, create your ultimate team!

The only problem with this multiplayer game is that there’s not Vs.\competition what-so-ever with other players, so really there’s no point for you to level up your Spectrobes besides for your own enjoyment in this multiplayer action game.

Pro:
  • Over 100 Spectrobes to find and raise (gotta excavate them all!)
  • Play as Roland or Jeena (which is played the same)
  • Watch, interact, and train with your Spectrobes in the incubator!
  • Have fun fighting against multiple enemies in open terrain with a Spectrobes of your choosing
  • In Co-Op your partner plays as your Spectrobe
  • Visit numerous worlds with numerous environments (you know, to see all the pretty stuff)
Con:
  • Camera is sometimes bad in Co-Op
  • Fighting is basically button mashing, no matter how much awesome combos you do

Spectrobes Origins Gameplay

Controls

You move around with the control stick, but you use point at the screen for excavating and other things that require you to point at the screen.

You'll have to fight giant bosses like this. Fun stuff.

You'll have to fight giant bosses like this. Fun stuff.

Besides that you press A to interact / attack, and shake the Wiimote horizontally to call back your Spectrobe, and vertically to get them to attack / look for minerals.

Also shaking the Nuchuck makes you barrel row.

Gameplay

You play as Spectrobe Masters Roland and Jeena.  They get lost in the far, far universe, and found an uncharted planets crawling with Krawls (the enemies).

You have to save the inhabitants of the planet and then that’s where this game begins.

At first you’ll have nothing, but as you quickly progress into the game more and more things will be introduced to you.

However despite being a new game for the Wii you still excavate minerals you find on the floor (with the help of your baby spectrobes), awaken excavated spectrobes, raise them with minerals, evolve them, bring them into battle, and many more things to do.

It's like taking care of chao's in Sonic Adventure!

One of the better improvements in this Wii multiplayer game is the combat!

Unlike the 1st game where you have to press L or R to attack with your spectrobes or the 2nd game where you play as one of the spectrobes with the AI controlling the other one.

No, in this game you play as either Roland or Jeena with your choices of weapons.

Alongside them is a spectrobe that you can easily switch from your team.

Spectrobes Origins Multiplayer

In this Wii multiplayer game you can only play Co-Op, like mentioned earlier.  I don’t know the reason, but it’s too bad that you can’t beat up your friends with your own personalize team.

Co-Op

Joining is very easy.  All you have to do is get the 2nd Wiimote to press Z. When they do, your friend/ sibling/ whoever you’re playing with play as your spectrobe.  When they die, he will play as the next one available, they’ll only be able to play in battles though.

Conclusion

With a whole bunch of cool and cute Spectrobes to find and grow you’ll definitely spend a great deal of time finding them, leveling them, evolving them, and then regretting them, because you still needed their baby form (for excavating/ dungeon purposes).

There are numerous planets to explore so obviously that means there are a whole deal of elemental spectrobes for you to find.

Alongside with your spectrobe you can do numerous attacks, with several types of weapons.  By ordering your spectrobe to assist your attack will create devastating combos that’ll help you fend off against the numerous amounts of Krawl attacking you.

If you’re interested I would recommend you to buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!
