No Nintendo WFC, but that’s okay! This is a Lego multiplayer adventure game, and this time, unlike the other Lego games, killing things dead with your bare hands isn’t tedious. Yes, same click-kill mechanics, but this time, you can literally see the high graphical violence of a guy being kicked across the room.

This time in this multiplayer wii game, you get to play the bad guys as well, and you get the ability to play all your favorite Batman villains. Ranging from the Joker to the Riddler, you get to play their scenarios in their special mobiles of mayhem.

Pros
  • A lot of new concepts, including usage of the wiimote’s abilities.
  • You get to play as Batman!
  • You get to play the villains.
  • New technological suit that give new powers.
Cons
  • The core game play is the exact same of the rest of the games (so if you’re looking for change you’re not getting it)
  • Characters are pricey
  • A lot less characters then in the other games

Lego Batman: The Video Game Gameplay

The gameplay itself is pretty fun. While you still press “B” to attack, the enemies will be pushed a lot further back.

Enemies flying away aside, you can also take the power of Bat/Robin suits to become adapted to a certain situation.

To top it all off, you can throw a boomerang at enemies (Though all bosses will dodge it), and causes massive destruction to breakable objects, but it can’t break glass…

Lego Batman: The Video Game Multiplayer

No wi-fi in this game, but, like all Lego games your friends can drop in and out whenever they want in the game, just as long as they have a extra wiimote.

Adventure Mode

In multiplayer, you basically play campaign mode and fling people around. When in doubt, hit something, use a special power, or big a friend to come and help you. Friendly fire’s pretty fun, too, as well as messing with friends in the two-player. Just don’t over do it!

Conclusion

I personally prefer this game over the rest of the “Lego” series, and it’s not because it’s Batman. One of the major differences is that your allies’ AI will actually DAMAGE an opponent.

If you’ve played the other “Lego” games, you’ll notice that the AI will only block, and if they attack, it’s ineffective. Also, the fact that you have mad judo skills and can grab and fling people around helps too.

So in another words, if you can’t decide which part of the “Lego” series you want, I recommend this one.

Who would win Batman or Superman?  Oh, and Batman doesn’t have any kryptonite.  Wrong, Batman will win, he always has kryptonite! (Taken from: Batman: the Brave and the Bold.  Batman for the win!)

If you like this multiplayer adventure game you should look at Lego Star Wars: The complete saga and Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure.

if you’re interested, you should buy this game, but you can rent it first at Gamefly starting as low as $8.95 or Try For Free!
