Ain't that something

If you:

1. Love Pokemon
2. Have a Nintendo DS
3. Have Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum
4. Spend long hours playing the game
5. Have friends who share your passion for Pokemon (optional)

You should get yourself Pokemon Battle Revolution.  However if you don’t fulfill these conditions (or plan of fulfilling them) I wouldn’t recommend you to get this multiplayer game at all.

Unless you aren’t obsessive with Pokemon or watching your own Pokemon, I wouldn’t recommend you to play, because in Poketopia (the island you’re on) you’ll only be battling with other trainers and a whole bunch of Pokemons.  Also there will be no experience gain.

Controls

As much as I hate to admit it, but the controls to this game is pretty simple.  In a battle you just choose to attack or switch Pokemons.  Both are done quite easily

with shortcuts or just clicking A on the Wiimote.

Gameplay

You play as a trainer arriving at Poketopia.  From here you get to create your own battle pass.   Battle passes let’s you design what your characters looks like, their clothing and accessories, and more importantly your Pokemon team.

One of the first few things you should do is upload your Pokemon from the DS to the Wii.  The game will upload everything incluiding the Pokemon from you PC.  You may mix and match your Pokemon as you want.

Note: Your Pokemon are only copies, and can’t update themselves what-so-ever so if you make new progress with your Pokemon don’t forget to upload them again.

Once you have a team you can enter tournaments.  When you win you get points that lets you buy fashion things or rare useful items you can transport to your DS game.

Pokemon Battle Revolution Multiplayer

Since this game is like a port for you to battle your friends there are multiple ways for you to battle.  This multiplayer wii game is actually the first game with

Earthquake always hurts a lot, even against legendaries!

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.  You can battle random people or just your friends online.

DS-To-DS Battle

Simply put it’s just like battling a friend wirelessly with your Pokemon teams (the team must be preset) on your DS.  The thing is that once you connect to the Wii your DS instantly becomes your controller.

Free Battle

This mode allows you and up to 3 friends battle with battle passes.  You can easily get your friends to create a battle pass (just as long as they don’t take your best Pokemons), and then you can have a Pokemon battle.

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection

This is where you can battle people online with 3-D effects.  You can battle random people or you can battle your friends (friend codes required).  Once the battle is over you can actually trade battle passes.  If you do that you can use the team you fought against for yourself (like wise the same for them).

Conclusion

Now I’m a Pokemania who spent too much time with my Pokemon (and a bit of Action Replay), but despite what Steve keeps on telling me, this game is still great to play.  Actually I should rephrase that: it’s great to play if you are a dedicated Pokemon fan.

Besides battling with your friends online or just next to each other, you could also get access to some rare items that can actually help out in your DS game, not to mention the surprise Pokemon you get at the end of the game.
