SEGA is bringing their best mascot out to race. Sonic and friends and other characters from SEGA are put behind the wheels to have a showdown of speed.
One would suspect that that characters like Sonic and Shadow would blitz through everything, but they would be horribly wrong.
Despite the different characters everybody has the same racing mobile and they all move at the same speed. So if you want a racing game where skills are the most important thing this multiplayer racing game is for you.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Gameplay
So the big question. How does this game compare to Mario Kart Wii. Things are similar such as picking items to use from the ground, grand prix, etc.
Some notable difference is that there’s more emphasis on drifting, the karts are much bigger, and there are no variety of karts.
For those of you who don’t know about racing game the game work like this: you select a kart and then select a racing track. Afterwards you race around the track 3 times. You can pick up items from the floor and throw it at your opponents.
The items you pick up are pretty standard with things that follow you, things that bounce, and a lot more. If you’re last you can pick up a super star item, which varies with character and will basically move you from last to first!
After every race you get SEGA milege which are basically money for you to use and buy new characters to race with.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Multiplayer
Sonic & Sega All-Stars is an online wii game. This means that there is Nintendo WFC!
Offline
Simple, just race with your friends in any track you want.
Online
Really nothing much to say here…connect online and go race with other people online. That’s it.
Conclusion
Personally, to me, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing isn’t as good as Mario Kart Wii. There are fewer tracks then Mario Kart, no things like battle mode, and less customizability.
However the game isn’t terrible in fact it’s a top notch games with a lot of cool stages; you get to see characters that haven’t been out since the Dreamcast. Besides that everything else you see has already been done by Mario Kart Wii.
