Multiplayer Wii Games FTW!

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Ah yes, the bucket of special effects, the special effects that doesn’t show up in Multiplayer mode. For reals. The game itself is pretty lame, but if you like overkill in shiny flashy wall breaking, this game may be the best wall breaking game ever.

Wanna say…grab a clone, smash ‘em on the ground, pin ‘em to a tree, then impale them with your light-stick? Well you can do that. And guns? Don’t have, OR need ‘em! Just run up and jump-slash them to death. For one mile is nothing compared to your sprint speed and jump height.  So, let’s continue, shall we?

Pros
  • A lot of special effects
  • The few times you have allies, you can kill them with no penalty (On certain consoles, you even get paid for doing it!)
Cons
  • Shallow gameplay
  • Repetitive
  • Controls are shoddy, for swinging effects nothing
  • Nearly everyone is like a lamb to a slaughter.
  • THE GUNS, THEY DO NOTHING!!
  • Only melee weapons stand a slight chance against you.
  • The eyes are all creepily huge…and staring…never blinking…

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Gameplay

In Force Unleashed, you’ll be forced to kill darn near everything. INCLUDING clones. Usually by impaling by lightsaber, but you could also just fling them around with a force choke/push. Or smolder/smash/crush them with a freaking crate! It’s awesome! Also, if you’re feeling bored, just go ahead and throw a lightsaber at them, mix it up!

In other news, you play as THE APPRENTICE. THE APPRENTICE is Darth Vader’s secret apprentice. He wants you to assassinate Jedi. Then betray him. But let’s ignore that for now! You’ll be killing Jedi, clones, and rebels with THE FORCE. Unless you’re boring. Then you’d just run up and hack ‘em into pieces with your lightsaber. The flaw? The dismemberment!

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Multiplayer

In multiplayer, you pit two Jedi against each other. Maybe even Siths! Unfortunely, that’s all you get. Multiplayer gets boring after a while, due to its repetition and lack of extremely flashy cut scene kills.

Conclusion

Overall, Force Unleashed is practically living testament that Gameplay>Graphics.  It sounds nice, but after flinging a random soldier around for so long, it gets lame.

If you’re looking for some quick thrills, I’d recommend Gameflying it, because the game is NOT worth buying. Quick cheap thrills, yes, but full on playing? Boooooring! The plot is terrible, so not worth that, either. In conclusion, Force Unleashed would be an excellent rental, but is a terrible purchase.
